Tea and Art Workshops with Full Life Arts

For more than 20 years, Lynn Karegeannes has been making arts and crafts that marry her love of tea and self-discovery through creative expression. As she describes it, her Full Life Arts workshops,

Provide a safe place for you to use the tools of arts and crafts to access the personally profound. You will have a guide, not an instructor, as you engage with both ancient and more modern art forms.”

Certified in tea expert Bruce Richardson’s Tea 101 Masterclass, and applying her Art and Art History master’s degree, Lynn invites tea lovers to participate in a creative experience that can be restorative, and even transformative.

You can glimpse her creations — from tea mosaics to tablescapes — and her tea journeys by visiting her blog, “My Tea Diary.” We are happy to say that Lynn has worked with Destination Tea in past, inspiring our popular Victorian Halloween Tea party guide with her crafted Victorian centerpieces.

Sign-up for A Workshop, or Plan Your Own

Visit Full Life Arts’ event page for a list of upcoming workshops, which Lynn hosts at a variety of venues from Asheville, NC to Johnson City, TN. If you cannot attend a scheduled Full Life Arts event, Lynn invites you to gather your tea friends and plan one of your own, in person or virtually. Email Lynn at myteadiary@gmail.com to organize your personalized tea art workshop.

For around $60 per person, you will enjoy a three-hour session of arts and crafts, with all materials and tools provided, while you sip on delicious teas. Lynn’s goal is to give you the basic know-how for a particular art form such that you can continue creating on your own.

Choose Your Art Form

Full Life Arts offers a variety of modalities in its workshops, including:

  • Mixed Media Altered Books
  • Labyrinths
  • SoulCollage
  • Mandalas
  • Expressive Arts

To honor the tea theme of her workshops, Lynn weaves tidbits of tea history into the conversation, for example, how tea spread from East to West and developed in popularity in the Western world.

Upcoming Workshops: Mixed Media Altered Books for Tea Lovers

Mixed Media Altered Books for Tea Lovers
– Sept. 28, Johnson City, TN
– Nov. 10, Chapel Hill, NC

In this creative 3-hour workshop, participants will learn how to turn an old hardback book into an artistic tea-themed altered book. An altered book is an artistic book/ journal/ scrapbook that is created in an old book (see samples below). We will use paper collage, rubber stamps, copies of tea-themed ephemera, stencils, and more as art materials. All materials and tools are supplied, and workshop participants may want to save and bring: dried tea bag papers, tea wrappers and tags, tea-themed magazines and images. Register Here
