Destination Tea Notes: Passing through the unassuming Neverland Tea Salon storefront reveals a darling tearoom designed by two women with an obvious background in theater and film. Childhood friends Terri Tatchell and Renee Iaci say they have a shared love for decadence and whimsy, and we will add, an evident desire to shine in every aspect of their afternoon tea service. Having experienced hundreds of afternoon teas, we have never seen such a clever and competent tea brewing operation as goes on here. The themed menus are executed beautifully, using fresh and delicious flavor combinations. Table service is gracious and unintrusive (thank you Payton!). We always swoon over bottomless pots of tea, and the affordable menu may leave room in your wallet to go for the tipsy tea add-on options. The only improvement we’d love to see would be an authentic clotted cream served with their fabulous scones. All told, this is one for your destination tea wishlists.

Antiques add an element of classic tradition to this playful tearoom.
We like the mismatched seating arrangements throughout the tearoom.
The Wonderland theme abounds.
Shelved behind the tea bar where you can see your teas being brewed, the tearoom’s extensive tea collection is available for purchase.
Tea Selection
For an additional charge, you may add Prosecco, rosé, mimosas or cocktails.
The Limoncello Spritz was the table favorite.
Bottomless pots of tea help abate tea envy when you are trying to choose from this extensive menu.
There’s something for everyone in this tea list, and your server is happy to make recommendations.
This method of brewing allows the tearoom to efficiently steep loose leaf teas at the proper temperature and for the proper amount of time. The glass bowls drain the finished tea into silver teapots waiting below.
An amuse bouche of blood orange, ginger and lime is cleverly labeled, “drink me!”
Scones and Spreads, Savories and Sweets
The tiered tray is neatly plated.
The five tea sandwiches were inventive and delicious: cucumber arugula and lemon herb mascarpone, tarragon chicken salad with pears and grapes, baked brie with apple and chai infused apple butter on croissant, thai red curry egg salad with cucumber and mango chutney, and roasted vegetable croque monsieur.
These freshly baked scones are large and marvelous, served with jam and a house cream that seemed more whipped than clotted.
Admiring the perfect soft, slightly flaky crumb of Neverland’s citrus scones.
Four artfully crafted desserts included: pumpkin praline cheesecake, pear and cranberry tart with mushroom topper, chocolate hazelnut cake and caramel apple choux with “Eat Me” medallion.
