After all, the original Masterpiece PBS series takes place during the early 20th century — 1912 to 1926 — when afternoon tea was all the rage in the UK and the US. Many of us who love the custom of afternoon tea also have an affinity for the historical settings, period dress and longstanding traditions and etiquette that make this meal special.
