Because this is a family-friendly cafe, it is a good place to invite children to practice their afternoon tea manners.
Destination Tea Notes: Full disclosure, Peachy Corners Cafe is near and dear to Angela, who has been rooting for their success since they opened in 2019, because it’s the dream venture of her friends Long and Susie Tran. They envision Peachy Corners Cafe as a little coffee and tea shop that heartfully serves the local community. In addition to sourcing high quality beverages, the Trans have turned their creative eye to designing an inviting space with long varnished wood bar, a blend of upholstered and industrial furnishings, and local art for wall decor.
They first kicked off their special event and private tea party offerings with a scratchmade Galentine’s Tea in 2020 (pictured at bottom), where we felt properly spoiled by the generous menu. A couple of years later, Peachy Corners Cafe paused their tea party service, which is why we are very happy to announce that they recently relaunched their afternoon tea offering this spring, with a Mother’s Day Tea we attended. Through a collaboration with Atlanta tea party caterer The Cheeky Teacup, the cafe is again a Metro Atlanta option for your larger tea parties. Think bridal showers, baby showers and book clubs. The Cheeky Teacup’s tablescapes add a vintage, formal feel to this modern cafe, and we found new favorites in their homemade menu, while enjoying the cafe’s perfectly brewed teas (one so much that we had to purchase some for home).
Tea Selection
Scones & Spreads, Savories and Sweets
Dessert included Chocolate Covered Strawberries, soft Lemon Elderberry Cookie Sandwiches, and the table favorite: Biscoff Cheesecake Shooters (so creamy!).
Galentine’s Tea (2020)
How to best say, “I love you?” With a delicious tea tray, obviously.
String lights add a romantic glow to the cafe.
Our stylish tablescape with soft grey tablecloth, bright red napkin roses and bows, and white rose and tea light floats.
Love the sweet touch of a place card; macaron as amuse bouche kicks off our Valentine’s Tea properly.
Tea Service
A pot of organic tea, coffee or bubble tea was included for each guest. Wisely, several caffeine-free organic tisanes were offered during this evening teatime, including the 333 Blend (rosehips, peppermint and chamomile), Chamomile, Turmeric Tonic (ginger, turmeric, lemon verbana, licorice, lemon peel, black pepper, essential oils of lime, ginger and lemon) and King Crimson (hibiscus, lemongrass, orange peel, licorice and essential oil of tangerine).
Angela chose the Emerald Spring, an organic green tea, which was delicious, and is served in a large 5-cup pot with pretty Japanese-style pottery teacup.
Savories and Sweets
Tea tray, will you be mine?
In any tea menu, it’s rare that every savory is spot on, but here we love each fresh, homemade item: quiche, smoked salmon bites with capers, avocado toast bites with balsamic and strawberries (!!), dumplings, smoked gouda, brie and crackers. As a Valentine’s homage to one of Angela’s great loves, she eats every morsel of cheese.
Appreciating this love-themed topper on our tasty dumplings.
Homemade desserts include avocado vegan chocolate truffles, chocolate covered strawberries and cookie truffles with Oreo…
…plus perfectly moist and not-too-sweet matcha frosted chocolate cupcakes, brown sugar pineapple, chestnut white bean cookies and vegan peanut butter cups. Yes, count them, 7 desserts!
Fearing we cannot possibly manage yet another course, but not wanting to miss out, we elect to split the grande finale — an affogato (basically a coffee float), which comes plated with red fortune cookies, heart gummies and chocolates.
How sweet! Long personally delivers our parting favors: red and white long-stemmed roses. Thank you Long and Susie, for throwing us a delicious celebration of friendship!
