Destination Tea Notes: We admit, hopes were very high as we hailed the return of afternoon tea to Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta. Fifteen years ago, this afternoon tea was one of our Atlanta favorites, even if they did use French presses for the tea and served whipped cream instead of clotted. These were the days when Destination Tea was nothing more than a dream, and we’d joke about our to-be-patented sugar cube rating system. By 2017, the hotel’s second floor lounge, dining room and cocktail bar that was Park 75, had undergone a makeover, and was only accepting parties of 10 or more for afternoon tea. On that visit, we attended with the former Atlanta Tea Society Meetup group, and found the afternoon tea menu to be as scrumptious as ever, with expertly made scones and beautifully crafted tea sandwiches. In 2025, eight years later, having transformed the space again, this time into a French-inspired concept — Brasserie and Bar Margot — would the hotel impress us with its new afternoon tea menu? We found that while some aspects have improved, others could be done better. Accompany us down memory lane, as we share some then-and-now photos. All in all, it was an enjoyable outing, and we know that tea-goers will be grateful that after so many years, the price-point here remains the same, which cannot be said for many high-end hotels throughout the country.

From afar, everything here is as it ever was, with stately columns, gorgeous chandelier and Bridge lounge naturally lit by a dominant arch window.
Plush banquettes have been added, softly lit by new floor lamps
The “Colour Me Pink” afternoon tea theme is inspired by the pink accents of the new Brasserie Margot.

Tea Selection
Each guest is invited to choose one tea from the list above. We appreciate when tea menus detail the flavor profile and tea blend ingredients to help diners choose.
The next best thing, these aroma jars helped us choose our teas. However, only the tea aficionado would know what type each tea was by sight and smell, which is why we like a descriptive tea list.
We appreciate that Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta has switched to teapots (see below),and they could fully improve this tea service by removing the tea infuser baskets before serving the tea.
Formerly, the hotel’s Park 75 used French presses for tea service. These don’t actually ever stop tea leaves from brewing, and can be a messy pour.
Scones & Spreads, Savories and Sweets
Our server Tiarra was kind and welcoming.
We were grateful for these printed menus, because there was no formal presentation of the tiered tray. Tiarra was happy to get answers to our questions as we sorted out what was what.
A pretty in pink afternoon tea
Unfortunately, the tea sandwiches had possibly been plated too long before our arrival, the breads beginning to dry out. Especially the gluten-free sweet potato bread was tough to bite through. We enjoyed the flavor of the egg and watercress tea sandwich. There was also a smoked salmon pinwheel and coronation chicken salad that was more brioche roll than filling.
As you can see, there’s a new scone recipe in play. We like that these are made in house and several around our table thought they were delicious. They are served with a chantilly cream and jam (pictured two above).
Dessert here was very yummy, especially because what may look like your generic macarons are actually raspberry and pistachio macarons made in house, and some of the best we’ve had yet. We also enjoyed the chocolate-dipped madeleine and flourless chocolate hazelnut cake.
2010 afternoon tea We loved this menu: breads were soft, sandwiches artfully constructed, scones were excellent.2017 afternoon tea, star scones are still expertly done2017 spreads included housemade lemon custard, chantilly cream and peach chutney – so yummy
