Destination Tea’s “10 Months of Giveaways”: August Prize
To celebrate our 10th Birthday, Destination Tea is giving back to the tea community, with monthly gifts from March through December. Our August giveaway is a special one because we will be there to personally congratulate the winner of two tickets to the inaugural Huntsville Tea Festival at Annabella at Cedar Glen in Huntsville, Alabama, on Saturday, August 15, 2026. In addition to hearing from afternoon tea icon and festival presenter Lorna Reeves, Editor-in-Chief of TeaTime Magazine, attendees are invited to shop unique tea purveyors, teaware and artisan goods, and (for an added fee), reserve afternoon tea at The Tea Room at Annabella.

For our August prize, Huntsville Tea Festival is giving away two tickets for festival entry, with branded swag bags of tea gifts. Please note that afternoon tea in the tearoom is an additional cost (see menu below).

WHO CAN ENTER: Tickets good for ages 10 and up, redeemable at Huntsville Tea Festival in Alabama on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Winner will be added to guest list at the door.
WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: Destination Tea will select one winner from Instagram after contest ends.

That sounds wonderful! Just want to give you a heads up that in case you’re planning on trying other tea rooms while you’re in Huntsville, beware!! The only other realty room in the area which is called the Lanier Tea house is run by people who have no earthly clue what is supposed to be served on a tea tray. 😳 I have tried to give them chance after chance, but they don’t understand what goes on a sandwich or savory tray, and what goes on a scone tray. One time they served a tiny bowl of fruit soup on what’s supposed to be the sandwich tray, and another time they served a little dish of pasta on the sandwich tray. They served me a pancake with hummus on top on what was supposed to be the scone tray. 😳 In addition, the food is often dry and you can find some reviews that say that. Please don’t go there! I’ve had afternoon tea at The Ritz in London, the Empress Hotel in Victoria, and over 20 other venues in North America during the last 15 years. Most the reviews you will read are positive, but that’s because people around here absolutely do not understand what it’s supposed to be served at afternoon tea. The place is run by the same lady who owns a local dinner spot, and I think she believes that an afternoon tea tray can just have small portions of any sort of food that suits your fancy. Seriously, it’s not worth your time!
