Destination Tea Notes: Dear homemade afternoon tea, we love you. If you’re like us, and freshly baked scones, breads and cakes delight you, you will love Savannah Coffee Roasters Café and Bistro. As coffee is the star beverage here, teas are understandably bagged, but pleasingly from high quality Harney & Sons teas. Our hostess Nan takes the time to give us a quick history of afternoon tea and points out the roses decorating our china with the national flower of England. In this historic city, we admire that the tea service here has a thoughtful appreciation for the origins of afternoon tea, even if the menu strays from the traditional. And then our food arrives, and all thoughts are centered in happy feasting.
