We went to check out the new afternoon tea service at Conrad Nashville's Blue Aster lobby lounge in Tennessee, and discovered an afternoon tea not to be missed. We very much appreciate an upscale afternoon tea like this one, which attends to every detail: beautiful setting, kind and informed service, properly steeped and decanted loose leaf teas, and creative, scratchmade courses featuring the artistry of a pastry chef. Menus change here seasonally, making this a perfect place to celebrate your special occasions year-round, experiencing new treats each time.

Don't you agree that every historic American town needs a tearoom? Downtown Marietta in Georgia did have one, from 2007 to 2020, where afternoon tea goers could take tea regularly at Vineyard Cafe. We were therefore very pleased to learn that three years after the cafe's closing, nearby Mac's Chophouse has launched a special event afternoon tea service that incorporates homemade crumpets and locally baked treats in a lovely afternoon tea experience.

Ever since we first assembled the North Carolina Afternoon Tea directory, The Ballantyne's seasonal afternoon tea menus have been on our destination tea bucket list. In many ways, afternoon tea at The Ballantyne Hotel is picture perfect (as you'll see), with pretty china set at a variety of elegant seating arrangements from high-backed chairs to tufted sofas around low tables. Watching the happy diners around us, we believe our experience at this luxury hotel was an anomaly, possibly due to staffing issues that have plagued the restaurant industry lately.

Destination Tea Throws Its First Party for Atlanta’s Tea Professionals

We did it!! Destination Tea has hosted its first (and possibly inaugural?) ATL tea party, where we all had a blast. The guest list brought together a who's who of Metro Atlanta's afternoon tea scene, including tea room and tea shop owners, tea bloggers, authors and more, for a delicious royal tea catered by local vintage tea party caterer The Cheeky Teacup, with pop-up tea fascinator shop by Nabi.
